Welcome to the family, Addison!
"T" and "K" reached out to me this spring wanted to do an announcement session, but she knew it was probably very different than the announcements I typically do. "T" had seen my work previously from a friends maternity session who also came down from the Columbia area. She fell in love with my style, so she knew Charleston was where they wanted to reveal their big news.
So it's probably pretty obvious that when "T" contacted me I almost fell off my chair. Me? Get to do a puppy announcement? How am I this lucky? I mean cuddling babies is definitely an amazing pass time of mine but you add puppies into the mix and now I'm completely sold that I have the absolute coolest, most amazing job in the world. This is WHY I wanted to work for myself as a photographer. Not only do I have some of the best locations in the world at my fingertips here in Charleston, but it's opportunities like this that make it even better. It was like I was checking off boxes and feeling like I'm one of those people finally "living their best life". I mean would I absolutely love to have my own puppy, of course! But this was truly a dream come true.
I guess I should mention here in case you didn't already know, Addison is a miniature Australian Shepherd with blue eyes and is 10 weeks old in these images. She came from a breeder in Texas and "K" flew there and back to get her. They will be celebrating their "gotcha day" in May.
Oh stop it, you're just too cute.
Oh snap! Addison's gotten adventurous!
Oh and that's me, totally bringing along my newborn props to this session in hopes that this girl would sleep. There is no sleep here. But it's okay she happily used my crate as a dog bed for the longest second needed to snap these cute shots.
The greenhouse of Magnolia Plantation is one of the most underrated areas of the whole property. The light in there is absolutely stunning all day because it's filered by the frosted glass. But it also has this gorgeous deck outside of it where the sun peeks through in the late day.
