Bri and Jimmy's Babymoon to Isle of Palms Beach
After getting engaged on the Wild Dunes Resort Links Golf Course and their wedding this past summer, it's only natural that their babymoon also be in the place that means so much to them. Bri reached out to me looking to create some maternity portraits here on Isle of Palms, South Carolina during their babymoon visit. In between the relaxation and some golfing for jimmy she wanted to keep the look simple, vintage inspired, and more personal just to them.
During the fall and winter months the sun actually shifts from setting behind the line of houses to being more over the sand and at what looks like the southern tip of the beach. This can be quite challenging to avoid the orange, yellow and red casts that it can give but it does make for some AMAZING lighting for black and white images. I knew that when Bri came dressed in jeans and a white top that these images would make stunning and artistic black and white images. So if this is your intended style, this is exactly how you should dress!
What I love most about capturing maternity sessions is the close bond and love that these couples share. The excitement they have is contagious.
Once the sun settles down into the horizon we get this amazing transformation from golden hour to blue hour and the colors change rapidly. This is my favorite moment, and the blue hour brings the most calm skies with stunning colors and even light.
This session was only yesterday and I was gushing about it so much that I had to blog it as soon as I finished editing it. I hope to see many more milestones with Bri and Jimmy, and wishing their little guy the safest arrival to the earth side.
